Payment is expected at the first lesson of the month, at the beginning of the month and on a monthly basis.  Students must pay by the 15th of the month or lessons may be terminated until pay is received.  Students who pay after the 15th will be assessed a $10 late fee.  Lessons are based on a 15-16 lesson semester, September through January and February through May.  This also allows for 2 recitals January and May and any competitions.   June through August will be a separate, not required semester for a separate fee, including 6 lessons over an 8-week period. Lessons will be billed monthly for the semester at the same rate each month. Some months may have fewer or more lessons.  Monthly fees are based on the 15 or 16 lesson spread out over the 4–5-month semester and therefore the monthly fee will remain the same, but number of lessons may vary depending on holidays, etc.  Lessons meet once each week, always at the same scheduled time.  Students will be credited for lessons I cannot provide.  If I have to cancel for illness, a school function, emergency, or inclement weather, you will NOT be charged for that lesson.  Any money already paid will advance to the next lesson.

Due to the size of the studio, I cannot promise a make-up lesson.  I will do my best to offer a make-up lesson, but a make-up lesson is not promised.   Inability to attend a lesson on a student’s part does not excuse payment of tuition.

Students will be charged a $50 book and materials fee at the start of lessons, in August before the start of the Fall session.   This will sit in an account to pay for books and/or printed sheet music.  Should this account become depleted, I will contact you.  Generally, students only need books every 6 months to a year.

Student invoices are sent out at the end of the month.  If you are invoiced you are expected to pay by the 15th of the month.   Payments not made by the 15th will result in a late fee of $10.  After the student has accumulated $100, no lessons will be given until the balance is paid.   You will be held responsible for all fees assessed for any NSF checks.

Lesson fee break down is as follows:

30 minute lesson: $25

45 minute lesson: $37.50

60 minute lessons $50

Professional Students: $60 (hour lesson)

Studio Recital: $25

 Payment can be made via:

Cancellations/Absences/Termination of Lessons:

· Lesson appointments belong solely to the student scheduled there.

  • Virtual lessons are an option for ill students, or students who have a conflict.

  • Please do not attend a lesson if you are ill.  If you did not go to school that day, you should not have a lesson either.   The teacher does have the discretion of sending a student home if they are too ill.

· A credit will be issued if the teacher cancels due to illness and chooses not to make-up those lessons.

· You are not guaranteed a make-up lesson for missed lessons. The teacher will contact you if there is an available time for you.

 · There are NO make-up lessons for lessons missed due to athletics or other extra-curricular activities.

 · Tuition DOES NOT change if a lesson is missed. The teacher will indicate any change in monthly tuition.

 · If a student is late to their lesson the teacher will give whatever time is left of the lesson to the student.  If there are no students behind the late student the teacher may extend the lesson.   If the teacher is late, the full lesson time will be given.

· The teacher is entitled to one lesson cancellation during the semester due to illness or emergency.

  • A lesson swap can be enabled for those who would like their name on the list.   This enables a student who cannot make their time due to illness or conflict to change with another student.

  • The teacher must be given two weeks notice if they choose to terminate lessons. This must be done in writing with a date and reason for leaving the studio. If you are considering ending your child’s music education with the studio, I would like to know so we can work together to help get over what could be just a hurdle. Many times, it takes an adjustment of the assignment, a new pop song, etc. to help the child break out of the problem they are having or feeling. Upon receiving, in writing, the desire to leave the studio, the parent may finish out the semester or end the lessons at that point, realizing there is no refund of the lesson money.
· The teacher has the right to terminate the student at any given time at which point, a refund of the unused lesson tuition will be refunded.
  • If a student forgets their materials, they will still be given a lesson, I do have extra copies of their materials at my home studio.

*There will be no lessons the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years due to the holidays.  No lessons are given on major holidays, such as 4th of July, Memorial Day or Labor Day.
